Job summary

Porchlight Inc. is seeking a Case Manager for the Men's Shelter to provide housing-focused support, enroll new guests, and help them pursue permanent housing. You will identify goals, address barriers, coordinate services, and maintain up-to-date documentation in HMIS.

Daily duties include engaging guests, developing individualized housing plans, and communicating with shelter staff to ensure safe, respectful service delivery while upholding confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Qualifications

Experience providing case management, housing navigation, shelter services, outreach, or other direct human services.
Strong communication, organization, advocacy, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to establish rapport while maintaining clear professional boundaries.
Ability to manage a caseload, maintain documentation, and balance competing priorities.
Ability to remain calm and use sound judgment during crises or high-stress situations.
Ability to work effectively with people experiencing homelessness and related challenges.
Computer proficiency and ability to maintain accurate electronic records.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Responsibilities

Proactively engage guests and develop professional working relationships.
Assess guest needs, housing goals, and barriers.
Develop and update individualized housing plans with guests.
Coordinate services and maintain HMIS documentation.
Provide referrals to community resources and assist with housing searches.
Communicate guest needs and safety concerns to shelter staff while keeping confidentiality.
Assist with shelter operations including orientation and intake.
Maintain safe, clean, and organized shelter spaces.
