Heading Home in Boston, MA is seeking a Part-time House Manager to run the Shelter program under the supervision of the Program Coordinator. The role supports residents, enforces rules, and helps ensure the house runs smoothly during the Saturday and Sunday shift.

Responsibilities include admitting residents, maintaining logs, arranging supplies, and participating in staff meetings. The salary is $21.21 per hour, with non-exempt status and a weekend schedule.

Qualifications

• Previous work with homeless individuals and/or families, disabilities or other at-risk populations
• Ability to work alone and handle crises with good judgment, adequate communication skills – both written and oral
• Must be able to occasionally ascend/descend stairs, frequently move equipment weighing up to 25 lbs., and remain in a stationary position 50% of the time

Responsibilities

• Manages daytime operations of the shelter program.
• Admits residents and ensures the appropriateness of each resident for placement at the Shelter.
• Provides supplies including food for snacks and lunches.
• Reads and updates staff logs with any important information during their shift.
• Maintains logs of evening and weekend activities.
• Attends scheduled staff meetings.
• Adheres to all agency policies, procedures and rules.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by Program Coordinator
