Job summary

Volunteers of America Colorado is seeking a Residential Advocate to protect the emotional and physical well‑being of Shelter residents. You will provide crisis intervention and supervise volunteers on a regular basis.

Responsibilities include conducting intake interviews, counseling clients weekly, maintaining logs, and coordinating with staff to ensure a safe, orderly facility and program compliance. The role requires a bachelor's degree, one year of human services experience, and willingness

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in a related area.
• One year of human service experience.
• Preferred experience with at‑risk populations and de-escalation techniques; CPR/AED certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention and ensure residents' emotional and physical safety.
• Conduct initial intake interviews with new clients and document them.
• Offer weekly individual counseling and help clients set goals.
• Supervise volunteers and coordinate with staff during shifts and meetings.
• Maintain shift notes, case notes, and program records.
