Job summary

Volunteers of America Colorado operates a Southwest Safehouse providing shelter for residents and delivering crisis intervention services. The position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least one year of human service experience; CPR/AED certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in a related area.
• One year of human service experience.
• Direct experience working with at-risk populations (homelessness, veterans, survivors of domestic violence) is preferred.
• CPR/AED certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention services to residents.
• Supervise and train volunteers and new staff.
• Conduct primary intake interviews and documentations for new clients.
• Maintain shift notes and case notes for residents and group sessions.
• Attend meetings and participate in program evaluations and improvements.
