Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a Shelter Supervisor to oversee intake, client supervision, and daily operations within the shelter. You will ensure safety, coordinate basic services, and maintain records in accordance with policy.

Responsibilities include conducting intake interviews, assigning rooms, coordinating with case managers, de-escalation during crises, answering calls, and supervising volunteers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with the homeless population desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conducts intake interviews for new shelter residents.
• Monitors room assignments and distributes basic necessities.
• Provides necessary supervision of shelter and residents, assuring that rules and policies are being followed.
• Assist with client need, refer to case manager as appropriate.
• Provide de-escalation and crisis response.
• Answers telephone calls, taking messages when appropriate.
• Maintain cleanliness of shelter common areas.
• Assist with food service preparations and serving.
• Ensures shift is documented according to procedures.
• Performs room inspections.
• Supervises volunteers, when assigned.
