Job summary

Sulzbacher Center seeks an Advocate to partner with a Case Manager to support residents on their Pathway and ensure they receive necessary supplies and services. The role includes daily liaison with residents, intake of new guests, and collaboration with the Facility Operations Manager to maintain a safe shelter environment.

The Advocate participates in weekly staff meetings and coordinates activities and resources to support residents’ wellbeing and program completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• AA degree preferred.
• Mental Health, Security or Medical background a plus.
• Valid Florida driver’s license and good driving record.
• Level II Background Screening.
• CPR Certification within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to establish cooperative and respectful working relationships with residents, co-workers, volunteers and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Works with Case Manager to ensure residents follow their case plan (Pathway).
• Ensures residents have necessary supplies and resources.
• Attends bi-weekly interdisciplinary meetings to staff residents and provide input.
• Intervenes when issues arise concerning assigned residents.
• Communicates daily with Case Manager to provide progress updates.
• Oversees resident mail, appointments, and related tasks.
• Plans training, educational and recreational activities for residents.
• Maintains safety and security of the facility with Facility Operations Manager.
• Intakes new guests and orients them to the Center and services.
• Coordinates placement of residents including linens, lockers, beds, and toiletries.
• Coordinates guest chores and volunteer work; maintains Guest Intake Program.
