Job summary

Africatown Community Land Trust (ACLT) seeks an Advocate to provide front-line customer services to Benu Community Home guests. The Advocate works as part of a team in a 24/7 enhanced shelter program, with duties ranging from crisis intervention to daily operations and guest support.

The role emphasizes compassionate support, adherence to program rules, and collaboration with staff to ensure a safe, respectful environment for residents and guests.

Qualifications

• One year experience working with people experiencing homelessness.
• Experience or knowledge of mental illness and addictions.
• Crisis intervention knowledge and skills.
• Commitment to harm reduction program model.
• Ability to work within ACLT mission and values.
• Background check per Seattle Fair Chance Ordinance.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention and advocacy to Guests.
• Model interpersonal and living skills for Guests.
• Enforce building and program rules and policies.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and functional living environment for Guests.
• Assist with facility preparation and guest transitions.
• Collaborate with team on shift and work independently when needed.
• Keep accurate hours and timesheets; participate in group decisions.
