Job summary

Dover Food Retail is hiring a Sheet Metal Machine Operator II in our Operations department. You will run brake presses, lasers, punch presses, sanders and deburring machines, ensuring parts meet specifications while maintaining safety and efficiency.

You’ll read blueprints and work orders, perform basic maintenance, and collaborate across stations to support production goals. The role is hourly, non-exempt, and located in an on-site production environment.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints and work orders to determine processing steps.
• Read rulers, tapes, squares, angle finders, and gauges to verify dimensions.
• Follow written and verbal instructions and safety rules.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and tooling.
• Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work area.

Responsibilities

• Operate all sheet metal equipment in the department (brake presses, lasers, punch presses, sanders, deburring).
• Fill part requirements to complete rounds for kitting and ensure on-time supply to upstream departments.
• Read and interpret blueprints and work orders; verify dimensions.
• Start machines, adjust controls, and perform test cuts; monitor operations and adjust as needed.
• Maintain safety and equipment condition; work at multiple stations as needed.
