Job summary

Polk Mechanical Company LLC is seeking a Sheet Metal Journeyman to fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal and HVAC duct systems. The role requires reading blueprints, operating fabrication machines, and installing ductwork on commercial/industrial HVAC projects.

You will cut, shape, and assemble components using hand and power tools, inspect installations, and ensure safety and quality standards on site. A minimum of four years of sheet metal experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years verifiable sheet metal experience
• Experience in commercial/industrial HVAC environments
• Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication & installation practices
• Trade certifications preferred
• Valid driver's license preferred
• Strong math skills & attention to detail
• Ability to visualize 3D objects from drawings and sketches

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal and HVAC duct systems
• Operate fabrication machines such as shears, brakes, bending rolls, and punch presses
• Cut, bend, and shape sheet metal to specifications
• Use hand and power tools, air hammers, and welding equipment for ductwork assembly
• Install ductwork and sheet metal assemblies per blueprints and specs
• Install HVAC components like air handlers, heat pumps, fans and unit heaters
• Inspect and test installations for conformance with requirements
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work environment
