Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a production/assembly support role in the United States. You will assist machine operators in manufacturing sheetmetal parts for air handling equipment, including loading, unloading, labeling, and moving stock with care and accuracy.

Responsibilities include keeping the work area clean, following PPE rules, and mentoring new workers when needed. Expect a loud plant environment and opportunities to learn safety procedures and basic material handling.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and shop floor paperwork.
• Must be able to write information from layout drawings to parts.
• Education/experience as described; on-the-job training available.
• Forklift license required in some departments; may be obtained within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Lifts, positions, and removes work-pieces from machines.
• Assists machine operator in loading and unloading machine.
• Labels parts and stacks them in the correct location and orientation.
• Loads, stacks, and transports stock, tools, dies, and work in process by hand or cart.
• Collects tubes and parts for coil building.
• Builds coil body frames, inserts fins and tubes.
• Deburrs metal parts as needed.
• Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment; follows PPE rules.
• Trains new or existing employees when necessary.
• Reports injuries, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
