Atlantic Constructors Inc. is seeking an Assistant Superintendent for Commercial Sheetmetal to oversee onsite crews, manage logistics, and enforce safety under the Superintendent's direction.

In this role you will perform skilled sheetmetal tasks and coordinate with subcontractors and trades to keep work on schedule and within cost targets. You will plan work, monitor quality, and assist in maintaining project schedules across multiple job sites in the Charlottesville area, requiring strong

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial experience in field sheetmetal operations.
• Extensive knowledge of air systems installation.
• Ability to successfully supervise crews.
• Experience with man hour reports, job cost reports, workforce planning and estimating.
• Understanding of construction cost control, forecasting and setting goals.
• Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work across varied disciplines.
• Knowledge of other mechanical trade disciplines.
• Ability to present information to customers, clients and colleagues.
• Multi-tasking with minimal supervision and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site supervision of commercial sheetmetal crews.
• Promote and monitor safety of all aspects at all times.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, foremen, tradesmen and general contractor to remove obstacles and promote efficiency.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate on-site functions.
• Perform material take-offs and ordering to maximize field productivity.
• Ensure quality installation of sheetmetal activities.
• Coordinate, inspect and track deliveries and align with shipping documents.
• Manage labor and equipment for loading/unloading and material distribution on site.
• Forecast labor needs to superintendent and foremen based on deliveries.
• Maintain project tools and materials and report progress and obstacles.
• Enforce safety and legal regulations on the job site.
• Communicate with field staff to ensure schedules and plans are followed.
