Atlantic Constructors, Inc. in Charlottesville, VA, seeks an Assistant Superintendent for Commercial Sheetmetal to help manage onsite teams, jobsite logistics and safety compliance under the direction of the Superintendent.

This working assistant superintendent will perform a wide range of skilled sheetmetal tasks and coordinate with subcontractors and the general contractor to ensure smooth project progression.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial field sheetmetal experience or equivalent
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to supervise crews and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
• Knowledge of air systems installation and metal fabrication processes
• Understanding of job costing, reporting and workforce planning

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site supervision of commercial sheetmetal crews
• Promote and monitor safety at all times
• Coordinate with subcontractors, foremen, tradesmen and general contractor
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate on-site functions
• Perform material take-offs and ordering to maximize productivity
• Ensure quality installation of sheetmetal activities
• Track deliveries and align with shipping documents
• Forecast labor needs and allocate resources accordingly
• Maintain cleanliness and safeguard tools and equipment
• Enforce safety and regulatory requirements on site
