Job summary

Atlantic Constructors is seeking a dynamic Assistant Superintendent for Commercial Sheetmetal to lead on-site crews, manage jobsite logistics, and ensure safety compliance under the Superintendent. This hands-on role combines supervision with performing skilled sheetmetal tasks to maintain productivity and quality.

The position requires 5+ years of commercial field sheetmetal experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to coordinate with subcontractors and foremen.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial experience in field sheetmetal operations
• Extensive knowledge of air systems installation
• Ability to supervise crews
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with man hour reports, job cost reports, workforce planning and estimating
• Knowledge of construction cost control, forecasting and goal setting
• Ability to present information to customers and colleagues
• Ability to multi-task with minimal supervision and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site supervision of commercial sheetmetal crews
• Promote and monitor safety on site
• Coordinate with subcontractors, foremen and general contractor to improve efficiency
• Plan, schedule and coordinate on-site functions
• Perform material take-offs and ordering to maximize productivity
• Ensure quality installation of sheetmetal activities
• Manage deliveries and track shipping documents
• Coordinate labor and equipment for loading/unloading material
• Forecast labor needs with supervision
• Maintain cleanliness of trailer and storage areas
• Enforce safety and regulatory compliance
• Communicate schedules and plans with field staff
• Manage tools and equipment
• Travel to multiple job sites as assigned
