Job summary

Sharps Medical Waste Services is seeking a dedicated Sharps Technician to safely place, collect, and transport reusable sharps and medical waste containers across assigned healthcare facilities in Salisbury, MD. You will maintain a consistent service schedule, ensure compliant handling, and deliver excellent customer service to hospital staff and other waste generators.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Background check, drug screening, and health screenings may be required.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and move carts 200–400 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Strong communication and customer service in healthcare settings.
• Willing to work outside normal hours and obtain vaccinations if required.

Responsibilities

• Travel between healthcare facilities to place, collect, and service reusable Sharps containers.
• Collect and transport pharmaceutical waste to designated areas within the facility.
• Maintain service and collection schedule to ensure timely support.
• Communicate duty status and service updates on a defined schedule.
• Build strong customer relationships by proactively resolving questions and concerns.
• Ensure safe, compliant handling of medical and pharmaceutical waste.
• Operate independently with minimal supervision.
• Document activities and follow procedures.
• Other duties as required.
