Job summary

Sharps Medical Waste Services is seeking a on-site Sharps Technician to safely place, collect, and transport reusable sharps and medical waste containers across assigned healthcare facilities.

You will maintain a regular service schedule, ensure compliant handling of waste, and deliver exceptional customer service to hospital staff and other healthcare providers. Training is provided and a Stay-On bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Background check, drug screen, and healthcare screenings as required.
• Strong communication skills for excellent customer service in diverse healthcare settings.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Lift 25-40 lbs frequently; up to 75 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transport to travel between facilities.
• Maintain sensitivity, professionalism, and discretion in patient-care environments.
• Flexibility to work outside normal hours when needed.
• COVID-19 vaccination preferred.
• Must complete pre-employment screenings including background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Travel between and within healthcare facilities to place, collect, and service sharps and waste containers.
• Collect and transport pharmaceutical waste to designated areas within the facility.
• Maintain a strict service and collection schedule.
• Communicate duty status and service updates as scheduled.
• Build and maintain relationships by resolving questions and concerns.
