Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced SH&E Manager to lead Safety, Health & Environment efforts for part of its East Region. The role supports operations nationwide and collaborates with a team of SH&E professionals to deliver safe, compliant work across projects.

The position is hybrid, requires 25–35% travel, and can be based in multiple East Region offices, including Fort Lauderdale or Atlanta, with a focus on implementing robust safety programs and driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 8+ years SH&E experience.
• Professional CSP or CIH certification.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record.
• Advanced skills with the Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to motivate others, build teams and lead safety initiatives.
• Ability to influence and inspire others to work safely.
• Able to work with all levels and cross-functional teams.
• Experience leading geographically dispersed organizations.
• Experience with data management/analytics platforms such as Power BI or Power Automate.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible and active support throughout the region for safety.
• Monitor and assess safety programs at diverse work sites (civil, building, environmental remediation).
• Identify actionable and feasible solutions to safety, health and environmental issues.
• Lead the incident management process and validate corrective actions.
• Review site safety plans, training programs, and audit protocols; supporting safety programs.
• Recommend changes to policies and procedures affecting the region.
• Train and coach all levels of employees in the organization.
• Assist operations in meeting safety performance targets.
• Conduct safety training, lead meetings and work groups with diverse workers.
