University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point is seeking a SGA President (Student Hourly). The role reports to the Student Body and leads all Executive Staff, representing students on local, state, and national issues, and guiding student life policy.

The President will oversee staff, co-chair the Differential Tuition Steering Committee, and ensure comprehensive governance across student organizations, with at least 10 office hours weekly during fall and spring terms. Compensation is $12/hour.

  • Attend and represent students at University events and meetings
  • Co-Chair and act as a non-voting member for the Differential Tuition Steering Committee with the SGA Budget Director
  • Create and refine student life policies
  • Communicate and build partnerships with students, faculty, staff, administration, legislators, and the media
  • Sign or veto all legislative actions by the SGA Senate
  • Appoint all Justices of the Judicial Branch
  • Make shared governance decisions for the organization and serve as the joint contact for all university governance groups
  • Present a State of the Student Body address within the first three weeks of the Spring Semester
  • Organize internal SGA awards with the Vice President, Speaker of the Senate, Executive Director, and Advisor
  • Maintain minimum 10 office hours per week during fall and spring semesters

  • G. Create and refine student life policies to ensure the best possible experience for students
  • H. Actively communicate and build partnerships with students, faculty, staff, administration, legislators (local, state, national), and the media
  • I. Sign or veto all legislative actions by the Student Government Association Senate
  • J. Appoint all Justices of the Judicial Branch
  • K. Make all shared governance decisions for the organization and serve as the joint contact for all University shared governance groups.
  • L. Present a State of the Student Body address within the first three weeks ofthe Spring Semester
  • M. Organize the internal Student Government Association awards at the end of each year with the Vice President, Speaker of the Senate, Executive Director, and the Advisor
  • N. The President shall hold at minimum 10 office hours each week throughout the fall and spring semesters and post them accordingly so that the public may access them.
  • O. Meet at a minimum of once near the end of each semester with the Vice President to specifically discuss and document transitional material including semester accomplishments and helpful tips.
  • Documentation must be typed, emailed, and stored in the President, Vice President, and Student Government Association's email accounts, as well as handed over for the next person in the role. Transitional materials must also include an updated list of contacts at the last meeting of the executive's term.

Compensation is $12/hour.
