Job summary

University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is seeking an SGA Budget Director, a student hourly role responsible for overseeing SGA budgeting and fiscal policy. The position chairs key fee allocation committees, recruits and trains members, and supports student organizations in the budget process.

The role requires coordinating with campus offices, supervising staff, and meeting a minimum on-campus time weekly. Compensation is $12/hour and duties include transition documentation and training.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to the President and Vice President, with additional duties assigned by the SGA Financial Specialist
  • Chair the Segregated University Fee Allocation Committee; Recruit and train the committee members
  • Chair the Non-allocable University Fee Allocation Committee; Recruit and train the committee members
  • Co-Chair the Differential Tuition Steering Committee along with the President of the Student Body
  • Implement and enforce Student Government Association fiscal policy
  • Oversee all SGA funded accounts
  • Train and assist student organization treasurers on the budget process; provide further educational sessions on segregated fees as requested
  • Train and supervise the SGA Associate Budget Director
  • Serve, with the SGA Financial Specialist as comptroller for segregated fees
  • Serve as the interpreter of financial decisions made by the SGA Senate and President
  • Form a working relationship with the Division of Business Affairs and Division of Student Affairs
  • Manage the budget office, ensuring financial forms and information are readily available
  • Attend the SGA Senate and the Executive Staff meetings
  • Provide a minimum of 12 hours per week in the SGA Office or related work on campus (excluding Student Senate)
  • Meet near the end of each semester with the President and/or Vice President to discuss and document transitional material including contacts; ensure storage in official accounts
  • Other duties as assigned. Compensation is $12/hour.

Meet at a minimum of once near the end of each semester with the President and/or Vice President to specifically discuss and document transitional material including semester accomplishments and helpful tips. Documentation must be typed, emailed, and stored in the President, Vice President, and Budget Director’s email accounts, as well as handed over for the next person in the role. Transitional materials must also include an updated list of contacts at the last meeting of the executive's term.
  • P. Other duties as assigned Compensation is $12/hour.
