Job summary

OpenRouter is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to drive hands-on implementation for customers in the San Francisco Bay Area. You will guide onboarding, set adoption milestones, and help teams integrate the OpenRouter platform into production architectures.

The role emphasizes working closely with developers, translating complex concepts into practical guidance, and delivering scalable post-sale outcomes. Travel to customer sites is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in a technical customer-facing role (Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, etc.).
• Strong software engineering fundamentals; able to read, write, and debug production code.
• Experience with APIs, SDKs, cloud infra, developer platforms, or AI/ML infra.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical onboarding for new customers after contract close, moving to production usage.
• Define success plans, milestones, and technical adoption goals with CS and AE teams.
• Help customers integrate OpenRouter into applications, workflows, and environments.
