Job summary

Springfield Empowerment Zone Partnership in Massachusetts seeks an experienced educator lead to support Special Education services and compliance within our urban schools. The ETL will coordinate regulations (M.G.L.

71B, 603 CMR 28.00), oversee IEPs, coach teachers, and collaborate with parents, principals, and AP of Special Education. This is a full-time role requiring DESE licensure and a bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching at the middle or high school level.
• Ability to support diverse learners with strong instruction and relationships.
• Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• DESE license in appropriate subject/grade level required.

Responsibilities

• The SEZP ETL will ensure federal/state compliance with special education regulations.
• The ETL coordinates and facilitates all aspects of M.G.L. 71B 603 CMR 28.00.
• The ETL serves as liaison with parents, principals, staff and community offices.
• The ETL is responsible for final versions of all IEPs on their caseloads.
• The ETL attends scheduled professional development sessions.
• The ETL coordinates transition planning from middle to high school and postsecondary planning.
• The ETL coordinates completion and submission of 688 referrals.
• The ETL completes Summary of Performance forms for graduating students.
• The ETL collaborates to support PLCs and provide coaching to teachers.
• The ETL supports MCAS ALT implementation and maintains a compliance log.
