Job summary

The Springfield Empowerment Zone Partnership (SEZP) seeks educators to ensure students access strong instruction, belong in school, and are prepared for meaningful opportunities. Educators act as instructors, mentors, and collaborators, contributing to school communities built on relationships, clear expectations, and continuous improvement.

Requirements include middle/high school teaching experience, a Bachelor’s degree, and valid MA DESE licensure for the subject/grade (or waiver eligibility).

Qualifications

• Experience teaching at the middle or high school level.
• Massachusetts DESE educator license in the appropriate subject/grade, or eligible for waiver.
• Ability to support diverse learners through strong instruction and relationships.
• Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction using research-based curriculum and effective instructional strategies.
• Design lessons to ensure all students access grade-level content with scaffolding.
• Use student data and formative assessment to adjust instruction and promote academic growth.
• Build strong, trusting relationships and contribute to a positive school culture.
• Collaborate in co-teaching teams, PLCs, and engage families as partners.
