Job summary

Springfield Public Schools in Western Massachusetts is seeking an Educational Lead/ETL to ensure federal and state compliance with special education regulations and coordinate M.G.L. 71B 603 CMR 28.00.

The role serves as a liaison with parents, principals and staff to facilitate specialized services for students and oversee the final version of IEPs on the caseload. The ETL will attend designated professional development sessions and work within a district that values equity, excellence and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Certified as a Teacher for Students with Moderate Disabilities by the Massachusetts DESE.
• Three years of successful public school experience.
• Professional study in special education, guidance, counseling and psychology.
• Ability to work effectively with children and adults in a multi-cultural community.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure federal and state compliance with special education regulations.
• Coordinate and facilitate all aspects of M.G.L. 71B 603 CMR 28.00 (Special Education Regulations).
• Serve as liaison with parents/families, building principals and staff and other offices and agencies within the community to facilitate specialized services to students.
• Responsible for the final version of all Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) on their caseload.
• Attend scheduled professional development sessions as designated by the Bureau of Pupil Services.
