Job summary

The City of Richmond in Virginia is seeking a Utilities Pipeline Technician to install, maintain, and repair sewer/wastewater pipelines. You will use hand tools and equipment, drive customer vehicles, stock the crew truck, and assist in setting up work zones to protect the public and workers.

Minimum qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent and at least one year of related experience. A Class B CDL is required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and replace sewer/wastewater pipes, valves, and related equipment.
• Drive and operate small equipment and machinery.
• Perform routine maintenance inspections of piping systems and respond to work orders.
• Prepare tools, materials and equipment for daily tasks and transport personnel to sites.
• Communicate with citizens to explain repairs and hear concerns.
