Job summary

The City of Richmond Department of Public Utilities is seeking a qualified Utilities Pipeline Technician to install, maintain, and repair sewer/wastewater pipelines. The incumbent will use hand tools and equipment to service sewer lines and manholes, and will assist with stocking the crew truck and travel to sites.

Responsibilities include installing pipes and fittings, driving small equipment, performing routine maintenance, responding to work orders, and ensuring safety by setting up work

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma, GED, or specialized vocational training.
• One year of related experience.
• An equivalent combination of training and experience may be used to meet qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs, and replaces sewer/wastewater pipes, valves, and related equipment.
• Drives vehicles to and from job sites transporting materials and equipment.
• Stocks truck with necessary supplies and maintains vehicle.
• Corresponds with citizens to explain necessary repairs and hear concerns.
• Attends and receives training as needed.
