Job summary

City of Pasadena is seeking an Utility Worker I to perform high level manual tasks involved in the maintenance and construction of sanitary sewer lines and sewage plants, including excavation, repairs, and connections with hand tools. Qualifications

• Valid Texas driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Ability to perform moderate to heavy physical labor, including lifting, kneeling, bending, and standing for long periods.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and construction of sanitary sewer lines and sewage plants.
• Excavate soil and perform sewer repairs and connections with hand tools.
• Repair, clean, and maintain sanitary sewer lines.
• Assemble and disassemble barricades and shoring equipment.
• Work effectively in a team and follow instructions.
• Possibility of after-hours call-out service and shift work.
• Maintain required licenses, certifications, and clearances; comply with city policies.
