Job summary

City of Lemon Grove seeks Technician I/II (DOE/DOQ) for the Public Works Sanitation Division to maintain the District's sanitary sewer system, including mains, laterals, manholes and lift stations, using CCTV and related equipment. This role supports reliable service to the Lemon Grove community.

Technician I is entry level; Technician II is journey level with broader duties and independent work. Requirements include high school graduation; Driver's License; CDL progression; and CWEA

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Technician I requires a valid Class C California Driver’s License and 6 months of general construction, maintenance work, or equivalent experience.
• Technician II requires two years of experience and a valid Class B (unrestricted) CDL with tankers endorsement after the 12-month probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs sewer mains, laterals, manholes, pump stations, force mains and related infrastructure.
• Operates sewer vehicles and CCTV cameras in inspection and maintenance of sewer systems.
• Reads wastewater maps and blueprints; uses a computer to enter data and generate reports.
• Sets up traffic control devices in heavy traffic environments and performs storm drain maintenance as assigned.
• Responds to after-hours emergencies and may work overtime as needed.
• Maintains records of work and assists in training less experienced staff.
