Job summary

City of Claremore seeks a Sewer Maintenance Technician I/II to inspect, repair, and maintain sanitary sewer lines, manholes, lift stations and related infrastructure. You'll operate vacuum and jetter trucks, assist with locating utilities, and respond to backups and emergencies.

The role requires at least a high school diploma or GED, valid Oklahoma driver’s license, and CDL Class B with air brake endorsement, or ability to obtain. Safety-sensitive position with on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years sewer system experience preferred.
• Valid Oklahoma driver’s license and CDL Class B with air brake endorsement or ability to obtain.
• Must maintain insurability with City’s carrier.
• Certificate of Competency (D level or higher) from DEQ within 1 year of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, clean, and repair sanitary sewer lines, manholes, lift stations, and related infrastructure.
• Operate and maintain vacuum trucks, jetter trucks, pumps, hand tools, and power equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections of sewer system components.
• Respond to sewer backups, emergencies, and customer service requests.
• Assist with locating underground utilities and sewer lines.
• Perform excavation, pipe repair, and replacement activities.
