Job summary

City of Lathrop is seeking qualified candidates for Maintenance Worker I/II in the Public Works Department. This role performs skilled and semi-skilled tasks in maintenance and repair of city streets, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and related infrastructure, including pothole repair and debris removal.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience in construction, maintenance or landscape work is desirable.
• One year of experience in construction and maintenance of streets, parks, buildings or utilities equivalent to Maintenance Worker I with the City of Lathrop.
• Possession of a valid class C California driver's license; class B may be required for some vehicles; pesticide applicator certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on City streets, parks, facilities and utilities.
• Assist with pothole repair, crack sealing, concrete repair, and debris removal.
• Inspect and maintain street signs, striping and delineators; respond to emergencies and maintenance requests.
• Operate light to moderately heavy equipment and hand tools; follow safety procedures.
