Job summary

City of Claremore is seeking a Heavy Construction Technician I or II to perform civil construction on streets, storm water facilities and water/sewer lines. The role requires operating a variety of city equipment and trucks, with a focus on safety and compliance.

The position is safety sensitive, may require random drug testing, and involves manual labor, tool operation and teamwork in outdoor environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Oklahoma driver license (Class D) required; CDL within 6 months.
• Experience in civil construction and street projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate gasoline powered hand tools.
• Assist in layout and construction of concrete formwork, piping, grading and paving.
• Determine locations of utilities before excavations.
• Maintain equipment and keep records of inspections and maintenance.
• Coordinate traffic control at work sites.
• Perform duties safely and as assigned.
