Job summary

City of Claremore is seeking a Water Maintenance Technician I and/or II to perform maintenance on the city’s water and sewer systems under supervision. Responsibilities include inspecting, repairing, and maintaining facilities, and operating a range of equipment in a safety sensitive role.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 1–2 years water/sewer experience preferred, and a valid Oklahoma CDL Class B with air brake endorsement (or ability to obtain).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; experience preferred in water/sewer operations.
• 1–2 years water/sewer experience preferred; equivalent education/experience accepted.
• Valid Oklahoma CDL Class B with air brake endorsement or ability to obtain.
• Must hold DEQ Certificate of Competency at D level or higher within one year.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair water distribution and sewer systems; maintain records.
• Determine locations of gas, water, and utilities before excavation.
• Operate and maintain equipment; drive trucks and assist in mains work.
• Follow safety standards; perform duties as assigned.
