Job summary

City of Muskogee is seeking a Water/Sewer Maintenance Worker II to perform unskilled and semiskilled tasks across city facilities, including water and sewer systems, streets, and public buildings.

Responsibilities include repairing manholes, operating tools and light to medium equipment, painting and grass maintenance, and assisting skilled workers. A high school diploma and a valid Oklahoma driver’s license are required; some duties occur outdoors and may include irregular hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Good knowledge of manual labor work practices, tools and safety precautions.
• Ability to read and write; follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and replaces manholes, cleans, repairs and replaces sewer lines.
• Operates hand and power tools including jack hammer, air compressor and other tools.
• Operates light to medium equipment including rodder, suction pumps, flusher, tractors and loaders.
• Paints, mixes cement, and cuts grass.
• Cleans catch basins, lays pipe, paints and silk screens traffic signs.
• Assists skilled repairmen in plumbing repairs and minor repairs to buildings and equipment.
• Performs other work as necessary and assigned.
• Must report to work regularly and on time.
