Job summary

Arlington County Government's Department of Environmental Services seeks a Water/Sewer/Streets Crew Leader to guide sewer construction teams, manage on-site activities, and ensure safety and quality in maintenance and repair work.

The ideal candidate will have leadership experience, a CDL, and strong communication, with proficiency in reporting and coordination with stakeholders. On-call duties and emergency responsiveness are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Three years of experience in public works, construction or similar trade.
• One year of trades work with leadership responsibilities.
• Possession of a valid Class B or A CDL.

Responsibilities

• Schedule crew work and provide technical feedback on sewer construction and repair.
• Direct crew on-site in technical procedures and project management.
• Ensure new team members are trained.
• Apply safety precautions and ensure tools and materials are available.
• Install and repair manholes, basins, sidewalks and pipes.
• Coordinate project completion with citizens, contractors, engineers and surveyors.
• Create reports using MS Office and log equipment/labor data.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in on-call rotation.
