Job summary

The City of Falls Church seeks a Crew Leader – Sanitary Sewer to supervise sewer maintenance crews and equipment operators on on-site public works projects. You will assign tasks, monitor performance, review maps, and ensure compliance with plans and safety rules.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, three years of supervisory or operator experience, and a valid CDL. OSHA courses and sewer equipment knowledge are preferred, with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience as a Supervisor or Equipment Operator.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operation of sewer maintenance crews and sewer cleaning equipment.
• Inspect work in progress and provide recommendations for changes in practices.
• Review sewer system maps for accuracy and corrections as needed.
• Prepare bills of materials, estimates, and reports; verify contractor invoices.
• Promote on-the-job safety and provide training for employees.
• Write daily and weekly work reports.
