Job summary

City of Omaha seeks a skilled sewer maintenance worker to join the Wastewater/Infrastructure team. Maintain, clean, inspect, repair, and replace sewer systems using jetting/vacuum equipment and assist with CCTV inspections. On-call and after-hours readiness required.

Two years in construction or sewer maintenance preferred; valid Class B CDL with N endorsement and necessary certifications; high school diploma preferred. Pay starts at $22.46–$30.91 hourly with progression.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience in construction, maintenance, or sewer cleaning.
• High school graduation or its equivalent is preferred.
• Must possess a valid Class B Commercial driver’s license with N endorsement and no air brake restrictions by end of probation.

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled assistance in the maintenance and monitoring activities of the City’s wastewater collection systems.
• Operates jetting, jet sawing, and jet vacuuming equipment to clean sewer lines and structures.
• Assists with the operation of CCTV equipment to inspect sewer pipes for defects or blockages.
• Monitors safety of work areas and traffic control, and places/removes temporary traffic control devices.
• Performs cleanup and routine maintenance of job sites and equipment, including securing tools for transport.
