Job summary

Omaha Drain is seeking an experienced Sewer Layer to join our Sewer Install team in Omaha, NE. This hands-on role installs sewer and water-service piping to grade, ensuring watertight connections and passing inspections on first attempt.

The ideal candidate has underground utilities experience, understands pipe grading and trench safety, and works well in a tight-knit 2–3 person crew reporting to the Install Lead.

Qualifications

• Experience in sewer/underground utilities installation.
• Ability to read layouts and installation specs.
• Familiarity with pipe grading, slope, bedding, and backfilling.
• OSHA trench safety knowledge.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding work.
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Install sewer and water-service piping to proper grade and slope.
• Operate or assist with trenching equipment as needed.
• Prepare bedding, backfill, and compact as specified.
• Connect piping to city mains and service lines.
• Maintain clean, safe job sites and coordinate with crew.
• Ensure installations pass inspection on first attempt.
