City of Tuscaloosa seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator to run jet/vacuum and related trucks for wastewater and drainage projects. You will inspect, maintain, and operate a range of equipment, read maps, and assist in construction and repair of city roads and utilities.

Standard duties include street sweeping, drainage work, and coordination with staff. Requires a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of experience, and an Alabama CDL (Class A or B). Drug screening is required.

Formación

• Requires one year of experience operating medium to heavy equipment.
• Must possess Alabama Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class A or Class B depending on position.
• Safety-sensitive role with pre-employment and random drug screens.
• Ability to read maps and interpret work orders is needed.

Responsabilidades

• Operates and maintains jet/vacuum or CCTV trucks and other heavy equipment.
• Inspects equipment before use and performs routine maintenance.
• Patches roads, drains, water and sewer systems as part of construction and repair work.
• Shovels, loads debris, and assists with street cleaning and other grounds tasks.
• Directs staff and communicates with team via radio and phone as needed.
