Job summary

Toho Water Authority is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to operate and maintain a vacuum/jetter truck, supporting wastewater lift stations and collection systems. Responsibilities include cleaning, jetting, sludge removal, and equipment maintenance, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires CDL Class A, Tank Vehicle endorsement within six months, and prior experience with heavy equipment or wastewater cleaning.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Three years of relevant experience operating commercial vehicles or heavy equipment.
Experience operating vacuum/jetter trucks or similar wastewater cleaning equipment.
Valid State of Florida CDL required with Tank Vehicle Endorsement within six months.

Responsibilities

Operate vacuum/jetter trucks for routine cleaning of lift station wet wells, piping and related infrastructure.
Perform high-pressure water jetting and vacuuming to remove grease, sludge and debris.
Safely operate pumps, booms, hoses, nozzles and related equipment.
Coordinate with Lift Station Maintenance to minimize disruption and prevent overflows.
Perform DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspections and routine preventive maintenance.
