Atakapa Services, LLC in Birmingham, AL is hiring a Vac Truck Helper to support our vacuum truck operations. You will assist the operator with collecting, transporting, and disposing of industrial waste and materials.

The role requires teamwork, adherence to safety rules, and the ability to travel for multi-day jobs. CDL is a plus but not required; competitive pay and benefits are provided. This position offers growth within our sewer and storm drainage rehab focus.

Qualifications

• Experience with vacuum trucks or similar equipment is a plus but not required.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.
• Willingness to travel for multi-day jobs on location.
• CDL Class A or B is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist operator of vacuum trucks to collect, transport, and dispose of industrial waste and materials.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks and pre-trip/post-trip inspections.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and maintain records.
• Coordinate tasks with team, supervisors, and clients and report issues promptly.
• Act as part of the emergency response team for spills or disasters.
