Job summary

WillScot is hiring a Setup Technician in the Elgin area to perform essential unit setup and removal tasks, including anchoring, leveling, and seaming. The role also covers basic electrical and plumbing work on customer units and customer-specific modifications.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, carpentry skills, and familiarity with construction trades. A valid driver’s license and ability to work independently are required.

Qualifications

• Carpentry skills and familiarity with construction trades are essential.
• Experience with customer relationship management is preferred.
• Good communication skills for dealing with customers, sales, contractors and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Set up units: anchoring, leveling, seaming, VAPS installation, steps, canopies, ramps.
• Install/remove skirting as needed.
• Disassemble buildings: ship walls, secure exterior walls, and prepare for shipment.
• Perform electrical and plumbing work on customer units.
• Handle customer modifications and service orders.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
• Assist with branch or field service duties as needed.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
