Job summary

The Ward Law Group in Miami, FL, is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our in-office accounting team. The role focuses on processing client settlement checks and providing essential accounting support in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Key duties include settlement check processing, data entry, accounts payable/receivable assistance, bank deposits, and month-end support, with strong emphasis on accuracy, organization, and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; accounting or business coursework is a plus.
• Prior experience in accounting, bookkeeping, banking, cash handling, or financial administration preferred.
• Ability to learn new systems quickly.

Responsibilities

• Settlement Check Processing: Receive, track, and process client settlement checks.
• Enter settlement data into systems and maintain records.
• Prepare checks and documentation for deposit and processing.
• Verify information against supporting documents.
• Assist with researching outstanding settlement checks.
• Follow established procedures for handling settlement funds.
• Accounting Support: data entry, AP/AR assistance, bank deposits, reconciliations.
• Organize invoices and backup documentation.
• Support month-end activities and maintain records.
• Provide admin support to Accounting team.
