Job summary

Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) in Washington, DC seeks a ServiceNow UI/UX Designer to lead user-centered design across the District of Columbia Government’s ServiceNow platform.

You will work with stakeholders, developers, and end users to craft accessible, visually engaging solutions that improve service delivery for employees, businesses, and residents, aligned with enterprise standards and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in design.
• Minimum 5 years in UI/UX design for enterprise platforms.
• At least 4 years designing for ServiceNow (Portal, UI Builder/Now Experience, Workspaces).
• Proficiency with Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end UX for ServiceNow modules, portals, and Workspaces.
• Translate requirements into intuitive interfaces with accessibility.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and stakeholder interviews.
• Maintain design systems and Now Design System alignment.
• Ensure 508/WCAG 2.1 AA compliance and testing.
• Collaborate with developers during build and QA.
• Create UX documentation: personas, journey maps, IA diagrams.
• Present concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Stay current on ServiceNow releases and propose improvements.
• Produce visual documentation for change management.
