Job summary

District of Columbia Government seeks a ServiceNow UI/UX Designer to design, enhance, and optimize user experiences within the District’s ServiceNow platform.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and end users to create accessible, visually engaging solutions that improve service delivery for employees, businesses, and residents while adhering to enterprise standards and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in design or related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in UI/UX design.
• 4+ years designing within or for the ServiceNow platform.
• Proficiency with Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch.
• Understanding of user-centered design methodology.
• HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript for collaboration.
• Accessibility experience (Section 508/WCAG 2.1 AA).
• Strong portfolio of enterprise UX/UI work.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end user experiences for ServiceNow modules, portals, and Workspaces.
• Partner with analysts, developers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into designs.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and stakeholder interviews.
• Build and maintain design systems, style guides, and UI components.
• Design and configure Service Portal widgets, UI Builder pages, and Now Experience components.
• Ensure designs meet accessibility standards and are technically feasible.
• Collaborate with developers during build and QA to preserve design fidelity.
• Create UX documentation including personas, journey maps, and IA diagrams.
• Present design concepts to stakeholders and leadership.
• Stay current on Now Experience capabilities and propose improvements.
• Produce visual documentation to support change management and training.
