Job Description: ServiceNow Solution Architect

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Solution Architect is a key member of the ServiceNow implementation project team and is responsible for the overall design of the application and mapping client business requirements from the project team to systems/technical requirements. The Solution Architect works as a team member along with the Project Manager, Technical Architect, and supporting team members to deliver the complete solution for the customer. The Solution Architect may sometimes also be required to lead multiple engagements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Participate in process flow analysis and process redesign along with the Project Manager.
2. Share best practices and be consultative throughout the technical design of the project.
3. Produce a detailed functional design document to match customer requirements.
4. Co-team with the Technical Architect to produce a technical specification for custom development and systems integration requirements.
5. Participate in internal projects as required.
6. Maintain current ServiceNow knowledge through self-study and utilization of available training.

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in ITSM and Non-ITSM (HRSD, ITBM, CSM, SecOps, and GRC) technologies and comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base. Candidate must be organized and analytical, adept at working in a team environment, able to design and implement a project schedule, and able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment. Additional preferred qualifications include:

1. Extensive experience with ServiceNow or other Service Management tools (BMC, Landesk, Cherwell, Heat, Axios, Client, etc.).
2. Strong presentation and communication skills.
3. Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into solution designs.
4. Knowledge of web-based systems architecture, service-based architecture, enterprise application architecture, as well as experience managing expectations and priorities.
5. Must demonstrate good judgment and a pragmatic approach to delivering a solution that optimizes architecture activities across company needs, business constraints, and technological realities.
6. Should have participated in, and be familiar with project methodologies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

1. 15+ years of total experience.
2. 5-7 years of relevant experience in professional services or customer support operations.
3. 3-6 years of ITSM systems integration and/or implementation experience.
4. Proven Solution consulting experience.
5. Depending on the work environment, the subject matter expert may lead or be an active participant in a work-group with the need for specialized knowledge.
6. Meet all agreed-upon turnaround times for deliverables, deliverable reviews, or deliverable sign-off.
7. Understands, articulates, and implements best practices related to his area of expertise.
8. Provides guidance on how his area of capability can resolve an organizational need and actively participates in all phases of the solution life cycle.
9. Design solutions and best practices to meet clients' objectives.
10. Work with clients to identify business challenges and contribute to client deliverables by refining, analyzing, and structuring relevant data.
