Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement ServiceNow workflow applications to support business and technical workflows
  • Configure ServiceNow applications, forms, and workflows based on stakeholder requirements
  • Ensure modules are accurately documented and maintain a log of developed and deployed modules for audit and tracking purposes
  • Ensure compliance with federal IT standards and site-specific requirements
  • Provide operations support for deployed ServiceNow applications and modules
  • Build, maintain, and regularly update documents tracking the progress of ServiceNow development tasks and projects
  • Interface with Mission Support Division staff to ensure tasks and priorities are understood and completed
  • Bi-weekly brief managers on the progress of ServiceNow development projects and initiatives
  • Complete tasks by established dates; inform management when dates can't be met and provide reasons
  • Maintain awareness of cyber, physical security, and safety-related rules and procedures
  • Develop, maintain, and document ServiceNow development policies, processes, and procedures
  • Support mission-driven initiatives requiring automation or workflow enhancement
  • Make recommendations to improve efficiency in workflow automation
  • Coordinate project-oriented ServiceNow development requests in alignment with DOE/NNSA guidance

Contract Type:Government Contract (Base Year + 4 Option Years)

Position Overview

We are seeking a talented ServiceNow Developer to support the Department of Energy's Naval Reactors Laboratory Field Office (NRLFO) Mission Support Division. This role designs, develops, and implements ServiceNow workflow applications, configures applications, forms, and workflows based on stakeholder requirements, and provides operations support for deployed ServiceNow applications and modules.

This is a non-personal services contract position. The contractor employee reports directly to the Prime Contractor for all human resources, disciplinary, and administrative matters, while receiving work direction and prioritization from NRLFO management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement ServiceNow workflow applications to support business and technical workflows
  • Configure ServiceNow applications, forms, and workflows based on stakeholder requirements
  • Ensure modules are accurately documented and maintain a log of developed and deployed modules for audit and tracking purposes
  • Ensure compliance with federal IT standards and site-specific requirements
  • Provide operations support for deployed ServiceNow applications and modules
  • Build, maintain, and regularly update documents tracking the progress of ServiceNow development tasks and projects
  • Interface and communicate with Mission Support Division staff to ensure tasks and priorities are understood and completed effectively
  • Bi-weekly brief managers on the progress of ServiceNow development projects and initiatives
  • Actively work to complete tasks and projects by established completion dates; inform management when dates cannot be met and provide reasons
  • Maintain awareness of cyber, physical security, and safety-related rules, policies, and procedures
  • Develop, maintain, and document ServiceNow development policies, processes, and procedures
  • Support mission-driven initiatives requiring automation or workflow enhancement
  • Make recommendations and provide input to improve efficiency and effectiveness in workflow automation
  • Coordinate project-oriented ServiceNow development requests in alignment with DOE/NNSA and Naval Reactors IT guidance
Deliverables
  • Complete, functional, properly documented ServiceNow modules for all assigned workflow requirements, correctly named and deployed to the designated ServiceNow environment
  • Comprehensive documentation of development tasks meeting federal lifecycle and auditability requirements
  • Weekly reports summarizing completed tasks, outstanding work, risks, and recommended improvements
  • Log of ServiceNow platform, software, or network problems, including date, time, description, and corrective actions taken
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of two (2) years of directly relevant ServiceNow development/administration experience
  • Proficiency in configuring, scripting, developing, and deploying solutions across ServiceNow modules including ITSM, ITOM, workflow, catalog, and custom applications
  • All work must comply with federal standards including DOE Orders, NNSA directives, FISMA/NIST guidelines, and NR-issued information systems instructions
  • Comprehensive understanding of federal IT compliance frameworks, including change-control, configuration management, auditability, secure workflow development, and documentation standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of presenting complex ServiceNow system information clearly and concisely
  • Must be able to obtain a DOE "L" Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required. DOD reciprocity may be used while DOE adjudication is evaluated
Preferred Skills
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with enterprise systems operating under federal compliance standards
  • Familiarity with secure development lifecycle requirements
  • Participation in development of organizational IT procedures, SOPs, and compliance documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to identify workflow improvements aligned with mission objectives
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
Schedule & Work Conditions
  • Core hours are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. local time, Monday through Friday, except Government holidays or site shutdowns; general office hours may be scheduled from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with start/end times adjustable by mutual agreement
  • Part-time: anticipate 1,040 hours per period of performance

Security Requirements
  • U.S. DOE "L" Access required; clearance must be obtained prior to start of performance
