Job summary

Akumen, Inc. is seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer with 5+ years of hands-on design, development, and maintenance of enterprise ServiceNow applications in the Washington, DC area.

You will lead the design and implementation of complex solutions that meet business objectives and align with technical requirements. You will mentor junior developers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive scalable, secure ServiceNow solutions including REST/SOAP integrations and platform

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, related discipline or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development, configuration and architecture.
• Proven ability to design and implement complex ServiceNow apps with modules, workflows and dashboards.
• Advanced scripting with JavaScript and Glide for client- and server-side code.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement complex ServiceNow applications, including custom modules, workflows, forms, and dashboards.
• Architect scalable solutions aligned with goals and ServiceNow best practices.
• Develop reusable components and libraries to improve maintainability.
• Integrate ServiceNow with external systems using REST and SOAP APIs with secure auth such as OAuth 2.0.
• Oversee testing strategies including system testing, regression testing, and UAT.
• Plan upgrades, migrations, and ensure compatibility with new platform versions.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation and mentor junior developers.

Akumen is seeking an experienced and highly skilled ServiceNow Developer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-level ServiceNow applications. In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of complex solutions that align with business objectives and technical requirements. You will take ownership of high-impact projects, mentor junior developers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and innovative ServiceNow applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement complex ServiceNow applications, including custom modules, workflows, forms, and dashboards.
• Architect scalable solutions that align with organizational goals and ServiceNow best practices.
• Develop reusable components and libraries to streamline development and improve maintainability.
• Design and implement integrations between ServiceNow and external systems using REST and SOAP APIs, web services, and authentication mechanisms such as OAuth 2.0 or API keys.
• Oversee testing strategies, including system testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Optimize workflows, scripts, and integrations to improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Plan and execute ServiceNow upgrades, including testing and validating customizations and integrations for compatibility with new platform versions.
• Lead migration efforts for legacy systems and ensure seamless transitions to ServiceNow.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, configuration guides, and process workflows.
• Develop training materials and mentor junior developers to build team expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow development, configuration, and architecture.
• Proven ability to design, develop, and implement complex ServiceNow applications, including custom modules, workflows, forms, and dashboards.
• Advanced proficiency in scripting languages such as JavaScript and Glide, with experience writing efficient and reusable client-side and server-side scripts.
• Experience working with UI Builder and other recent ServiceNow technologies.
• Hands‑on experience designing and implementing integrations between ServiceNow and external systems using REST and SOAP APIs, web services, and authentication mechanisms.
• Deep knowledge of multiple ServiceNow modules (e.g., CSM, ITSM, ITOM, PSDS, SecOps, GRC, CSM) and platform optimization techniques.

Desired Qualifications

• Certified Application Developer, Certified Implementation Specialist.
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator
• CMDB Fundamentals

Clearance Requirement

• Must have an Active Top Secret clearance or higher.
