Job summary

Akumen, Inc. is seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer with 5+ years of hands-on design, development, and maintenance of enterprise ServiceNow applications. You will lead complex projects, mentor junior developers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure solutions.

Responsibilities include building modules, workflows, dashboards, and integrations using REST and SOAP APIs, plus code quality and documentation. A Top Secret clearance is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or related discipline, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development, configuration, and architecture.
• Proven ability to design, develop, and implement complex ServiceNow applications.
• Advanced proficiency in JavaScript and Glide scripting for client- and server-side code.
• Experience with UI Builder and modern ServiceNow technologies.
• Deep knowledge of ServiceNow modules and integrations using REST/SOAP.

Akumen is seeking an experienced and highly skilled ServiceNow Developer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-level ServiceNow applications. In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of complex solutions that align with business objectives and technical requirements. You will take ownership of high-impact projects, mentor junior developers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and innovative ServiceNow applications.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement complex ServiceNow applications, including custom modules, workflows, forms, and dashboards.
• Architect scalable solutions that align with organizational goals and ServiceNow best practices.
• Develop reusable components and libraries to streamline development and improve maintainability.
• Design and implement integrations between ServiceNow and external systems using REST and SOAP APIs, web services, and authentication mechanisms such as OAuth 2.0 or API keys.
• Oversee testing strategies, including system testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Optimize workflows, scripts, and integrations to improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Plan and execute ServiceNow upgrades, including testing and validating customizations and integrations for compatibility with new platform versions.
• Lead migration efforts for legacy systems and ensure seamless transitions to ServiceNow.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, configuration guides, and process workflows.
• Develop training materials and mentor junior developers to build team expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow development, configuration, and architecture.
• Proven ability to design, develop, and implement complex ServiceNow applications, including custom modules, workflows, forms, and dashboards.
• Advanced proficiency in scripting languages such as JavaScript and Glide, with experience writing efficient and reusable client-side and server-side scripts.
• Experience working with UI Builder and other recent ServiceNow technologies.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing integrations between ServiceNow and external systems using REST and SOAP APIs, web services, and authentication mechanisms.
• Deep knowledge of multiple ServiceNow modules (e.g., CSM, ITSM, ITOM, PSDS, SecOps, GRC, CSM) and platform optimization techniques.

• Certified Application Developer, Certified Implementation Specialist.

Clearance Requirement:

• Must have an Active Top Secret clearance or higher.
