Job summary

The Larson Group Peterbilt is seeking an experienced Service Foreman to lead our service team. You will supervise mechanical personnel, assist in diagnosing customer complaints, and estimate repair costs while greeting customers and coordinating repair orders.

Responsibilities include daily supervision, time management, reviewing work progress, and maintaining high closure rates. A CDL and related field experience are required, with safety above all. This is a safety-sensitive role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Trade school certificate/degree preferred.
• CDL license required or ability to obtain.
• Experience in a related field required.

Responsibilities

• Daily supervision of service technicians; assign work accordingly.
• Manage technicians' time on jobs and maintain efficiency goals.
• Inspect and road test vehicles to verify proper completion.
• Open/complete repair orders and estimates with Service Writer.
• Liaise between customers and technicians; resolve complaints.
• Pre-plan parts requirements for each job to ensure availability.
• Ensure safety rules and shop policies are followed.

Job description

The Larson Group Peterbilt is looking for an experienced Service Foreman to join our dynamic team. Exercise direct supervision of mechanical personnel. Assist them when necessary in diagnosis of customer complaints and recommending needed repairs. Assist in greeting customers, writing repair orders, and estimating repair costs.

Responsibilities:

• Daily supervision of service technicians. Assigning work accordingly.
• Managing tech's time on jobs. Ensuring techs maintain desired efficiency and productivity goals set by the Service Manager.
• Maintain shop policy to keep below 2% of revenue.
• Check and review work in progress and follow-up for completion as scheduled. Maintaining closure rate of under 15 days and max 5-day lag.
• Inspect and, if necessary, road test vehicles to ensure work has been completed properly.
• Ensure all safety rules and all TLG policies are followed at all times.
• Resolve customer complaints, keep Service Manager informed of all customer complaints and technician problems.
• Assist in maintaining a clean shop and making sure that special tools and shop equipment are in proper operating condition and being used correctly.
• Assists Service Writer in opening and completing Repair Orders and estimates.
• Act as liaison between customer and technicians.
• Review repair orders to ensure all technicians have entered detail description of repair and T/S steps. All pictures and down loads are saved and attached to Paccar Solutions / Decisiv. Warranty parts have been properly tagged and saved.
• Pre-plan parts requirements for each job ensure parts are available when needed.
• Work with Service Manager and New and Used Truck Salespersons to ensure all sold trucks are prepared properly for the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Should possess a High School diploma.
• A certificate or degree from a trade school is preferred, but not required.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a CDL. Experience in a related field is required.
