Job summary

Stallion Infrastructure Services in Houston, TX, is seeking a Service Technician I to install, configure and repair electronic communications and surveillance systems at remote and field sites. You will support mobile cellular, wireless, and satellite equipment, plus IP cameras and NVRs, with strong troubleshooting and customer service.

The role requires hands-on technical skills, 1–2 years of related experience, and the ability to lift up to 60 lbs.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and repair communication systems including mobile cellular, wireless network, and satellite equipment.
  • Support maintenance and repair of surveillance systems including IP cameras and NVRs.
  • Configure and troubleshoot network, telephony, and satellite terminal-related systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and system checks; complete field retrofits and upgrades.
  • Communicate job progress and issues to customers, project managers, and management.
  • Cross-train and collaborate with additional field operations as required.

Job Description

The Service Technician I executes the setup, installation, and repair of electronic communication and surveillance systems for remote and field-based sites. This position provides field support for technology products such as communications and networked surveillance equipment. It requires hands‑on technical skills, strong troubleshooting ability, and a customer‑first attitude.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and repair communication systems. Including: mobile cellular communications equipment, wireless network products, and satellite equipment (e.g., PBX, modems, routers, satellite terminals, and hard‑wired connections).
  • Support maintenance and repair of surveillance systems including IP cameras, NVRs, and supporting powered components.
  • Configure and troubleshoot network, telephony, and satellite terminal‑related systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and system checks; complete field retrofits and upgrades.
  • Communicate job progress and issues to customers, project managers, and management.
  • Cross‑train and collaborate with additional field operations as required.
  • Knowledge of basic networking concepts and low‑voltage systems.
  • Familiarity with various Video Management Systems (VMS) and IP‑based cameras.
  • Ability to work independently or with minimal remote guidance.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong customer service orientation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Training from a two‑year vocational or technical program or equivalent field experience.
  • 1–2 years of experience in surveillance, communications, or related low‑voltage installation work.
