Job summary

Irvine Company Apartment Communities seeks a Service Technician on a project assignment to cover a long-term leave of absence through June 29, 2024. Work schedule is Thursday through Monday, 9am–6pm, with Tue/Wed off.

This role performs plumbing, painting, electrical, HVAC, and appliance repairs per company standards in coordination with management. Responsibilities include maintenance of community spaces, safety inspections, and preventative maintenance on systems.

Qualifications

• On-call for emergencies; may include weekends/holidays.
• Regular, punctual attendance required.

Responsibilities

• Promotes positive customer interactions to enhance Irvine Company experience.
• Performs service requests, unit turns, and preventative maintenance.
• Keeps common areas in good repair and conducts safety inspections.
• Follows safe work practices and completes required safety training.
• Manages inventory of parts and assists with turnover tasks.
• Performs preventative maintenance on required systems and equipment.
• Performs porter functions as needed.

Service Technician- Project Hire ($24.50)

Position Summary

This position is associated with coverage for a long term leave of absence with an end date of June 29 2024. Work schedule is Thursday - Monday Tuesday/Wednesday off 9am - 6pm.

Develops and maintains a high level of skill in all phases of general maintenance. Performs general maintenance including plumbing painting electrical HVAC hazardous material abatement apartment turn-over and appliance repairs in accordance with company standards and in conjunction with management staff.

Job Duties

• Promotes positive proactive customer interactions to make their Irvine Company experience of the highest quality.
• Performs service requests unit turns and preventative maintenance work throughout the community.
• Ensures community common areas and grounds are maintained according to company standards conducts inspections identifies and resolves any hazards.
• Performs work using safe work practices. Ensures completion of safety training and actively investigates and mitigates risks.
• Responsible for inventory of parts and appliances responsible for general maintenance and orderliness of facilities.
• Completes property preventative maintenance and preventative maintenance on required systems and equipment.
• Performs porter functions as necessary.

Variances in responsibilities may exist by community type:

Smaller Communities: Responsibilities will include completing both maintenance service requests and turnover of apartments. May work alone.

Larger Communities: May work on a team that completes maintenance service requests or turnover of apartments

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

• Valid driver’s license valid vehicle insurance
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English both verbally and in writing. Multilingual ability a plus.
• On call required for after hours emergencies Schedule may require work on weekends holidays and evenings.
• Regular consistent and timely attendance required.
• Ability to move in and out of a variety of positions which include the following: sitting standing walking squatting stair and ladder climbing kneeling belly crawling overhead reaching lifting carrying.
• Ability to push and pull up to 118 lbs of force.
• Ability to lift below waist up to 77 lbs and above waist 45 lbs.
• Must complete and pass pulmonary exam and respirator fit test.

Compensation:

Base Pay Start Rate: $24.50
