Job summary

Matrix Packaging Machinery is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to support installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and service of our packaging machinery across the US. You’ll travel extensively, providing on-site training, customer support, and program customization to meet client needs.

Strong mechanical/electrical knowledge and PLC familiarity are preferred, with a focus on delivering excellent service.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all inspection, testing, quality and operating specifications are met.
• Directs and/or oversees customer personnel during plant machinery installations and servicing.
• May customize machine programs on-site to meet customer needs.
• Maintain on-call status and provide technical telephone support.
• Provide factory floor support when not in field service.
• Train customers on operation and service of machinery.
• Assist customers with aftermarket parts in the field.
• Travel extensively within the US and occasionally internationally; mechanical/electrical knowledge required.
• Strong customer service focus and communication skills.
• Familiarity with PLC/PC systems is helpful.
• Proficiency in Windows & MS Office.
• Train customer personnel on equipment; strong service orientation.
• Experience with flexible packaging machinery preferred.
• PLC programming experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel a minimum of 75%.

Matrix Packaging Machinery is seeking a talented Field Service Technician.

• Ensure all established inspection, testing, quality and operating specifications are met.
• Directs and or oversees customer’s personnel during plant machinery installations and integrations or servicing (repair and/or troubleshooting).
• May provide on-site customizing of machine programs by revising programs to meet the customer needs.
• Occasionally maintain a 24-hour on-call status and provide customer technical telephone support.
• Will provide factory floor support when not providing customer field service support/travel.
• Provide customer training regarding the operation & service of our machinery.
• Assist customers with aftermarket parts needs will in the field.
• Successful candidate must possess knowledge/skills of mechanical and electrical principles and be willing to travel extensively within the US and, from time to time, internationally.
• Good communication & interpersonal skills and a strong customer service focus.
• Familiarity with PLC/PC systems helpful.
• Proficiency in Windows & MS software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent customer service skills; ability to train customer personnel on equipment.
• Prefer experience in flexible packaging material machinery.
• PLC programming experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel a minimum of 75%.

Salary Range: $37.00 - $50.00 per hour.
